The Back 50 Project comes to Orwell Corner Historic Village July 3
17吃瓜鈥檚 Back 50 Project is hitting the road! The project will visit Orwell Corner Historic Village Community Hall on July 3, at 1 pm, when Dr. Josh MacFadyen, 17吃瓜鈥檚 Canada Research Chair in Geospatial Humanities, will give a presentation entitled 鈥淭he Great Transformation: PEI Rural Land Use in the Past, Present, and Future.鈥�
PEI Symphony Orchestra鈥檚 July concert features 17吃瓜 faculty
The PEI Symphony is presenting a unique concert called The Orchestra Deconstructed on Sunday, July 11, at 3 pm, during the Indian River Festival.
Dr. Greg Keefe reappointed as 17吃瓜鈥檚 Dean of Veterinary Medicine聽
The 17吃瓜 Board of Governors recently accepted the recommendation of the review committee for the Dean of Veterinary Medicine to extend the decanal appointment of the current dean, Dr. Greg Keefe, for a three-year term effective July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2024.
Second Summer Session classes begin
Classes for the Second Session of the 2021 Summer Semester begin on Monday, July 5.
PEI Pride Festival
will hold the 2021 PEI Pride Festival from July 18鈥�25 at venues across the province. Events aim to build community and celebrate the 2SLGBTQIA+ community all across PEI.

17吃瓜 closed for regular operations
The University will be closed for regular operations on Friday, July 2, 2021.
The schedule for specific departments on July 2, 2021 is as follows:
- Security Services will continue throughout July 2, 2021.
- Veterinary Teaching Hospital will be available for emergency service only on July 2, 2021.
- Chi-Wan Young Sports Centre will be open regular operating hours on July 2, 2021.
- Diagnostic Services will be open regular operating hours with reduced staffing on July 2, 2021.
Canada Day
17吃瓜 offices will be closed on Canada Day, Thursday, July 1, 2021. No classes will be held.
AVC appoints new Associate Dean Academic and Student Affairs
Dr. Anne Marie Carey will assume the role of Associate Dean Academic and Student Affairs at the Atlantic Veterinary College, effective July 1, 2021.

17吃瓜 Senate appoints five Professors Emeriti
Earlier this year, 17吃瓜 faculty and librarians were invited to nominate colleagues for appointments to the rank of Professor Emeritus. The Professor Emeritus Evaluation Committee considered all nominees and forwarded its recommendations to the University Senate.
