Abstract: This presentation introduces the author’s interest in the topic, quickly pols the audience on their knowledge of Digital Accessibility, provides background information on statistics and legislation, and then presents basic Digital Accessibility Guidelines regarding alt text, headings, meaningful links, tables and PowerPoint. If time allows, a basic “inaccessible” document is provided for the audience to practice with in applying the guidelines. References and resources are provided.

Professor Louis Doiron, Director of the Actuarial Science and Financial Mathematics programs at 17Թ, will give a virtual presentation on Wednesday, October 27, at 3:00 p.m., about the feasibility and costing of implementing a Guaranteed Basic Income Program in Canada.
17Թ Field Hockey hosts AUFH championship on October 23 and 24
17Թ hosts the 2021 Atlantic University Field Hockey (AUFH) championship tournament this Saturday and Sunday. The Panthers will host teams from St. Francis Xavier University, Saint Mary’s University, Dalhousie University, Mount Allison University, the University of New Brunswick, and Acadia University.

Teaching Community Conference
The E-Learning Office and Experiential Education Office hosted the 4th 17Թ Teaching Community Conference on May 4, 2021. The 17Թ Teaching Community Conference is a conference for 17Թ faculty and staff to present on their teaching and how they support teaching here at 17Թ. The theme for the 2021 conference was pedagogies of care.
Panthers at Home, October 22 and 23
The Panthers see action on their home turf and ice as all soccer and hockey teams host games this weekend.
The action kicks off on Friday at 5 pm as 17Թ Women’s Soccer hosts Memorial. The men follow up with their own game against MUN at 7:15 pm.
