17吃瓜 Music Department to perform Mozart鈥檚 'The Magic Flute'
The 17吃瓜 Music Department will perform Mozart鈥檚 famous opera 鈥淭he Magic Flute鈥� on March 6 and again on March 7, at 7:30 pm in the Steel Recital Hall. This fully staged version will come to life under the musical direction of Sung Ha Shin-Bouey and stage direction of Stephen Bouey, both of whom are voice professors at 17吃瓜. The opera will be sung in English and will have a unique take, offering perhaps a glimpse of university life in a fantastical way. It is a family-friendly show and is perfect for the inner child in everyone.

Internship offers recipe for discovery
Thanks to funding from the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Scholarship (QES) Program and a partnership with Farmers Helping Farmers, two 17吃瓜 Foods and Nutrition students were able to participate in an international research and development project in Kenya during the summer of 2019.

This multidisciplinary research roundabout includes a number of 3-minute presentations by our colleagues from various departments at 17吃瓜 followed by Q&A and discussion from the audience. A pair of weekend wins put the 17吃瓜 women鈥檚 basketball team alone in first place on top of the AUS standings. Now it鈥檚 time to get ready to head to Halifax for the AUS Basketball Championship this weekend at the Scotiabank Centre!
The Panthers鈥� first game this weekend is the semi-final on Saturday at 1:00 pm against the winner of UNB (4th) and CBU (5th) in the quarter-final. The championship game is the next day at 1:00 pm.
Panthers at Home, February 25
The 17吃瓜 women鈥檚 hockey team must win Tuesday night鈥檚 semi-final matchup at home against St. Francis Xavier to keep their AUS playoff hopes alive. The Panthers dropped game one in Antigonish over the weekend and now need two back-to-back wins to advance to the next round.
鈥淭he team is looking forward to hosting St. FX tomorrow night,鈥� said coach Bruce Donaldson. 鈥淕ame one showed us the importance of playing a full 60 minutes. St. FX has won 13 in a row, so clearly they are playing some great hockey. We need to stick to our assignments and play the Panther way for a full game.鈥�
