Arthritis research project looking for participants
Dr. Sarah Finch, associate professor, 17吃瓜 Department of Applied Human Sciences, is researching treatments and therapies being used by people living with arthritis. Participants are invited to take part in a one-on-one conversation online or by phone to share their experiences with arthritis management. These interviews are expected to be 30 to 60 minutes in length. The study is looking for participants of any age, with any type of arthritis, or their caregivers.

Shoot for the Cure raises more than $117,000 for breast cancer research
Shoot for the Cure, the annual fundraiser for breast cancer research held by Canadian university women鈥檚 basketball programs, raised more than $117,000 this year, of which more than $2,300 came from 17吃瓜. Organized since 2007 in collaboration with the U SPORTS Women鈥檚 Basketball Coaches鈥� Association, the initiative raises money for the Canadian Cancer Society (CCS) and other related local and provincial charities to help fight breast cancer.
Stephanie Arnold named an Emerging Thought Leader by WIIS Canada
Women in International Security (WIIS) Canada has named 17吃瓜鈥檚 Stephanie Arnold as one of its Emerging Thought Leaders in the category of climate change. Arnold is a PhD candidate in Environmental Science and conducts research with 17吃瓜鈥檚 School of Climate Change and Adaptation.
17吃瓜 alumna Olivia Robinson鈥檚 first novel accepted for publication
Congratulations to 17吃瓜 alumna Olivia Robinson whose first novel, The Blue Moth Motel, has been accepted for publication by Breakwater Books. Set mostly on PEI, Robinson鈥檚 novel is scheduled to be published in the fall of 2021.
Kelly Yoo wins CVMA 2020 Student Leadership Award for AVC
Congratulations to Kelly Yoo, Class of 2021, on winning the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association鈥檚 for the Atlantic Veterinary College.
Each year, the CVMA recognizes a third-year student at each of the five veterinary colleges in Canada with a student leadership award. The winners are selected by their classmates based on their leadership and achievement in student affairs.
17吃瓜 Founder, retired faculty member, and conservationist Daryl Guignion passes away
The entire 17吃瓜 community was saddened to learn of the passing of 17吃瓜 Founder and retired faculty member Daryl Guignion on February 8, 2021. The flags in front of the Kelley Memorial Building have been lowered to half-mast in his memory.
