Second Summer Session classes begin
Classes for the Second Session of the 2021 Summer Semester begin on Monday, July 5.
PEI Pride Festival
will hold the 2021 PEI Pride Festival from July 18–25 at venues across the province. Events aim to build community and celebrate the 2SLGBTQIA+ community all across PEI.

17³Ô¹Ï closed for regular operations
The University will be closed for regular operations on Friday, July 2, 2021.
The schedule for specific departments on July 2, 2021 is as follows:
- Security Services will continue throughout July 2, 2021.
- Veterinary Teaching Hospital will be available for emergency service only on July 2, 2021.
- Chi-Wan Young Sports Centre will be open regular operating hours on July 2, 2021.
- Diagnostic Services will be open regular operating hours with reduced staffing on July 2, 2021.
Canada Day
17³Ô¹Ï offices will be closed on Canada Day, Thursday, July 1, 2021. No classes will be held.
AVC appoints new Associate Dean Academic and Student Affairs
Dr. Anne Marie Carey will assume the role of Associate Dean Academic and Student Affairs at the Atlantic Veterinary College, effective July 1, 2021.

17³Ô¹Ï Senate appoints five Professors Emeriti
Earlier this year, 17³Ô¹Ï faculty and librarians were invited to nominate colleagues for appointments to the rank of Professor Emeritus. The Professor Emeritus Evaluation Committee considered all nominees and forwarded its recommendations to the University Senate.

National Indigenous Peoples Day (June 21) is a day that unites us in reflecting and recognizing the important contributions Indigenous peoples have made throughout history and throughout communities from across Canada. It is also an opportunity to listen and to learn from Indigenous Peoples, to hear their oral histories and traditions, and to reconsider the active role we all need to play to move forward.
