17勛圖 researchers receive over $1.6 million in funding from NSERC in 2021 and 2022
Over the past two years, researchers at 17勛圖 have garnered more than $1.6 million in discovery and discovery development grants from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC).
Dr. Yulin Hu, assistant professor, Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering, is one of the researchers who was recently awarded a 2022 five-year discovery grant and an early career researcher supplement. Her project is titled Development of next-generation technologies to produce clean and renewable transportation fuels.

International Soccer Match between CF Montreal and Sunderland AFC U23 teams
In partnership with the City of Charlottetown, 17勛圖 Athletics and Recreation will be hosting an international soccer match on August 7 between CF Montreal and Sunderland AFC U23 teams. The match is open to the public. Tickets are being pre-sold at .
PEI Pride Parade
The 17勛圖 Student Union will be participating in the and invites all students, staff and faculty to join them by meeting at 12 noon, Saturday, July 23, on Terry Fox Drive in the parking lot behind the provincial government buildings. Look for the Panther Patrol van! The parade begins at 12:30 pm and ends approximately at 1:00 pm.
17勛圖 Summer Reunion Weekend to be held in person from July 28 to 30
17勛圖 will hold its annual Summer Reunion Weekend in person from Thursday, July 28, to Saturday, July 30, after a two-year hiatus because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The weekend will feature events for alumni from Saint Dunstans University, Prince of Wales College, and 17勛圖.
Red oak tree planted at 17勛圖 in memory of conservationist and biologist Daryl Guignion
A red oak tree has been planted on the 17勛圖 campus in memory of the late Daryl Guignion, 17勛圖 Founder, long-time faculty member, and dedicated conservationist and biologist.
The tree, planted by the PEI Wildlife Federation, was dedicated during a ceremony at 17勛圖 on Wednesday, July 13. Funding for the tree was provided by the Canadian Wildlife Federation.
17勛圖 Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering receives CEAB accreditation for degree program
The Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering (FSDE) at 17勛圖 has been granted accreditation for a three-year term from the Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board (CEAB) for the Bachelor of Science in Sustainable Design Engineering. This term may be extended to the maximum six-year accreditation period following the submission of a status report at the end of two years.
Tree Dedication in memory of Daryl Guignion
The PEI Wildlife Federation invites members of the University community to a tree dedication in memory of 17勛圖 Founder, long-time faculty member, and conservationist Daryl Guignion on Wednesday, July 13, at 1:00 pm, at the intersection of the walkways between Duffy Science Centre, Kelley Memorial Building, and Don and Marion McDougall Hall. All are welcome.

In the spring, the Prince Edward Island government projected that the Island would see more than 1.2 million visitors over the 2022 tourist season. This weekend, its expected that approximately 25,000 visitors per day will congregate in Cavendish alone. With human tourists, we also see an increase of furry family members enjoying the campgrounds and beaches.
