Charlottetown Fire Department to conduct training on 17³Ô¹Ï campus, October 18, 2025

The following notice was also issued by email to students, staff, and faculty on October 17, 2025.

On Saturday, October 18, 2025, beginning at 8:30 am, Advanced Rescue Training will be conducting high-rise and standpipe operations training with the Charlottetown Fire Department. This training will take place on the 17³Ô¹Ï campus at the Performing Arts Centre and Residence (PAC) building, which is located along University Avenue. Training is expected to be concluded by 6:00 pm.

Island Lecture Series features archaeologist Dr. Helen Kristmanson on October 21

The (IIS) and the Vinland Society of PEI present a talk by archaeologist Dr. Helen Kristmanson about Osland, a historical Icelandic village in northern British Columbia, on October 21, 2025, at 7 pm, in the Faculty Lounge (Room 201), SDU Main Building, 17³Ô¹Ï.

Dr. Helen Kristmanson’s talk is part of the Institute’s 2025 Island Lecture Series.

Wednesday, October 15
AT HOME:
7:00 pm: The 17³Ô¹Ï Women’s Hockey Panthers play the Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues at MacLauchlan Arena.

AWAY:
6:00 pm: The 17³Ô¹Ï Women’s Rugby Panthers play the Acadia University Axewomen in Wolfville, Nova Scotia. This is the Atlantic University Sport (AUS) semifinal match.

Brooke Henderson and Jakob Robillard named 17³Ô¹Ï Panther Source for Sports Athletes of the Week

Every week, 17³Ô¹Ï Athletics and Recreation recognizes student-athletes for their achievements and contributions to their respective sports. The 17³Ô¹Ï Panther Source for Sports Athletes of the Week for October 6–12 are Brooke Henderson (women’s hockey) and Jakob Robillard (men’s hockey).

Henderson is a third-year science student from Halifax, Nova Scotia. She had a breakout game on October 11, scoring a pair of goals in 17³Ô¹Ï’s 5-0 win over the Mount Allison University Mounties.
