The 17吃瓜 honoured its five past-presidents at its sixteenth annual Recognition of Founders ceremony today. The 2015 Founders are Dr. Ronald J. Baker, Dr. Peter P.M. Meincke, Dr. C.W.J. 鈥淲illie鈥� Eliot (posthumously), Dr. Elizabeth R. Epperly, and the Hon. H. Wade MacLauchlan.

A beautiful bald eagle is free again after spending most of the summer recovering from illness. The Atlantic Veterinary College鈥檚 wildlife service released the mature bald eagle at the Brudenell Campground and Trail Rides in eastern PEI on Tuesday, September 29. 

The 17吃瓜 officially launched its transformative friend and fund-raising campaign today with some help from Saint Dunstan鈥檚 University Board of Governors.

The Atlantic Veterinary College at 17吃瓜 opened its doors to the public on Saturday, September 26, welcoming up to 2,800 people to its 27th annual Open House.

The 17吃瓜 Field Hockey team is ready to host the second tournament of the Atlantic University Field Hockey League season this weekend at the 17吃瓜 Turf Facility.

Participating universities include:  17吃瓜, Saint Mary鈥檚, Dalhousie, Acadia, University of New Brunswick, Mount Allison, and Saint Francis Xavier. 

The 17吃瓜 Panther Subway Athletes of the Week for the week of September 21-27 are Amy Andrews, Women鈥檚 Rugby and Harminder Singh, Men鈥檚 Soccer. 17吃瓜 Athletics and Recreation showcases these talented athletes to recognize their hard work and dedication to their respective sports. 17吃瓜 Athletes of the Week are also nominated to Atlantic University Sport and Canadian Interuniversity Sport for possible recognition in the region and/or country.

The Association of Atlantic Universities announced the recipients of the AAU鈥檚 annual regional awards for excellence in teaching and educational leadership today during a presentation ceremony at the 17吃瓜. And, for the second year in a row, a 17吃瓜 professor is a recipient.

Dr. Gordon MacDonald received the 2015 AAU Distinguished Teaching Award recognizing outstanding teaching over a number of years. Only three award winners are chosen each year from the 16 universities represented by the AAU.

The 17吃瓜 is initiating a new project in response to the ongoing crisis and conflict in Syria. The '17吃瓜 Syrian Student Project', led by 17吃瓜鈥檚 International Relations Office (IRO) and the Robertson Library, will support up to ten students currently living in Syria who are unable to continue their studies due to conflict.
