17吃瓜鈥檚 School of Mathematical and Computational Sciences is hosting a second year of the IgniteCS@17吃瓜 camp aimed at young students interested in computer science. The free weekly camp begins the week of May 14 and runs through July 4.

The L.M. Montgomery Institute (LMMI) at the 17吃瓜 is marking a major milestone today鈥擜pril 26. On this date 25 years ago, the LMMI was launched with the goal of promoting research into, and celebrating, the life, works, culture, and influence of Prince Edward Island-born L.M. Montgomery, one of Canada鈥檚 most famous authors.

The Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) has been granted full accreditation by the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) Council on Education (COE) for the next seven years.

17吃瓜 Women鈥檚 Basketball head coach Greg Gould announced at a team meeting on Thursday that he will be retiring from the University. Coach Gould joined the Panthers in 2012, taking over a team that had a three-year, 2-58 record. He leaves the Women鈥檚 Basketball program with a 43-57 record, qualifying for the playoffs each year and leading the team to one of its most successful seasons in the last decade.

Dr. Javier Sanchez, an associate professor of epidemiology at the Atlantic Veterinary College, has been selected to be part of the Joint FAO/WHO Expert Meetings on Microbiological Risk Assessment Roster of Experts (JEMRA) for a five-year term.

Fifteen ocean research projects based in Atlantic Canada have received more than $25 million in funding, an investment that鈥檚 expected to advance understanding of atmospheric and ecosystem change while also identifying ways to grow resource development in a sustainable way.

The 17吃瓜鈥檚 School of Sustainable Design Engineering (SSDE) annual Student Design Expo will showcase the best in student, sustainable, and green engineering in Atlantic Canada on Friday, April 20. 

April鈥檚 edition in the Island Studies Lecture Series features author Katherine Dewar speaking about 鈥淭he Making of a Canadian Military Nursing Heroine.鈥� 

The 17吃瓜 is once again partnering with Humber College to present The Insider鈥檚 Guide to Writing and Publishing for Young Readers, a workshop for writers of children鈥檚 and young adult literature. 

Christian Norton, who graduated with his Honours Biology degree from 17吃瓜 in 2016, will head this fall to Oxford University with a full scholarship.
