Installation of the Chancellor
All are invited to attend the installation of the Honourable Catherine Callbeck as the ninth Chancellor of the 17勛圖 on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at 2:00 PM in the 17勛圖 Chi-Wan Young Sports Centre. Reception immediately following ceremony in the Chi-Wan Young Sports Centre.

30th Annual AVC Open House
AVCs 30th annual Open House will take place on Saturday, September 29, from 10 am until 2 pm. Hosted by AVC students, faculty, and staff, this family-friendly event offers the community an opportunity to get an inside view of a busy veterinary college.
Open House features something for everyonedifferent kinds of animals to see, a parade of dog breeds, demonstrations and exhibits, our popular teddy bear clinic and other childrens activities, and
much more.

Japanese Film Festival
17勛圖 will host an evening of Japanese cinema to mark 90 years of diplomatic relations between Canada and Japan. The Japanese Film Festival will be Friday, September 14, beginning at 6:00 pm in room 104 of 17勛圖s K.C. Irving Chemistry Centre.
The evening, presented by the Japanese Consulate, will include two feature films. The screening of Chihayafuru: Musubi will begin at 6:00 pm. Close-Knit (Karera ga honki de amu toki wa will screen at 8:00 pm. Both will be shown in Japanese with English subtitles.
All are welcome.
Study and exchange opportunities in Japan: info session
17勛圖 will host an information session on study and exchange opportunities in Japan. The event will take place at 3:30 this coming Friday afternoon in the SDU Main Building Faculty Lounge.
2018 marks the 90th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations between Japan and Canada. This information session complements an evening of Japanese cinema at 17勛圖, hosted by the Japanese Consulate.

Check out the Stars! A stargazing event outside the Robertson Library!
Robertson Library and the 17勛圖 Department of Physics are celebrating Science Literacy Week, September 17th-23rd, by co-sponsoring a stargazing event on Sunday, September 23rd at 8:30 pm.
Megan Glover, 17勛圖 Department of Physics, will give a presentation on navigating the night sky and how to set up and use the Librarys Dobsonian telescope.
You will discover how to find objects in the sky using star maps and learn stargazing tips!
In the case of a rainy or cloudy evening, the presentation will be held inside Robertson Library.
Check out the stars @ home! You can borrow the telescope from the Service Desk in the Robertson Library with your 17勛圖 Campus Card. The telescope can be borrowed on a 7 day loan.

ART for the Soul
Drop in Art - bring your own supplies and take some time to create.
No prior experience necessary.
Any medium welcome- Crayons, colouring books, knitting needles, acrylics, pencils.. you bring it, you create it!
This is an open event, bring your own art supplies and take a few minutes for yourself. Come and go as you please.
You do not need to be creative to participate, just have an interest in expressing yourself!
This is the first event - bring your ideas and suggestions for future Art for the Soul meetings.

Neuroscience Journal Club
The monthly meeting of the 17勛圖 & Friends Neuroscience Journal Club will be held on Friday September 14, 2018 from 3-4 pm in the lecture theatre (note the change of location) of the Duffy Research Centre (NRC). All neuroscience research students as well as faculty, scientists and staff with an interest in neuroscience topics are welcome to attend.
