Celebrating 50 years of Accomplishment—A Tribute to Alex B. Campbell, LLD
The 17³Ô¹Ï paid tribute today to Alex B. Campbell, former premier of Prince Edward Island, for his central role in the creation of 17³Ô¹Ï 50 years ago. The university unveiled the new Alex B. Campbell Terrace in the 17³Ô¹Ï Quadrangle near the W.A. Murphy Student Centre and the creation of an endowment fund in Campbell’s name for entrance scholarships.
Meet and Greet with 17³Ô¹Ï first President, Dr. Ronald J. Baker
Dr. Ronald J. Baker, President Emeritus, took up his duties as the 17³Ô¹Ï’s first president in the summer of 1969. Upon retiring as president in 1978, Dr. Baker continued duties as a professor at 17³Ô¹Ï until 1991. Dr. Baker will host a meet and greet reception to mark the occasion of 17³Ô¹Ï’s fiftieth anniversary, and looks forward to welcoming former colleagues and students!

Join members of the community as two legacy projects are announced in honour of former premier, Dr. Alex Campbell, whose bold vision for postsecondary education on Prince Edward Island was central in the formation of 17³Ô¹Ï fifty years ago.
The announcement will take place in the 17³Ô¹Ï Quadrangle, between the W. A. Murphy Student Centre and Kelley Memorial Building.
17³Ô¹Ï Women’s Hockey recruits goalie Shaylin McFarlane
Bruce Donaldson, coach of 17³Ô¹Ï’s Women’s Hockey team, is pleased to announce Shaylin McFarlane has committed to the Panthers for the 2019–2020 season. McFarlane is a goalie from Douglastown and was a member of Team New Brunswick for the 2019 Canada Winter Games.
17³Ô¹Ï Women’s Rugby recruits Dayna Pitter
The 17³Ô¹Ï Women’s Rugby team has recruited Dayna Pitter to wear the green and white for the 2019–2020 season. Pitter is an experienced and accomplished player from Calgary who is comfortable at any position on the field.
In Memoriam: a gathering to remember Gary Bradshaw
Dr. Alaa Abd-El-Aziz, President and Vice-Chancellor, invites the friends and colleagues of Gary Bradshaw, who passed away suddenly last week, to an informal gathering on Wednesday, July 17, 2019 from 3–4 pm in the Faculty Lounge, to remember and reminisce.
Presentation on Innovation for Defence Excellence and Security (IDEaS)
