Robertson Library Kitchen Party!
The Robertson Library at 17勛圖 is set to host their first-ever Kitchen Party on Saturday, September 27a fundraising event in support of the Love Our Library campaign as well as a celebration of the Librarys 50th anniversary. The event will be held upstairs in the Reading Room from 7:00 to 10:00 pm with live music by Roy Johnstone, Rob Drew and Harmony Wagner. There will also be a cash bar and light refreshments.
Admission to the event is free, but donations to the Love Our Library campaign will be gratefully accepted. Those 19 years of age and over are welcome to attend.

Kayla Batchilder and Luc Doucette named 17勛圖 Panther Source for Sports Athletes of the Week
Every week, 17勛圖 Athletics and Recreation recognizes student-athletes for their achievements and contributions to their respective sports. The 17勛圖 Panther Source for Sports Athletes of the Week for September 1622 are Kayla Batchilder (womens field hockey) and Luc Doucette (mens cross country).
Batchilder is a third-year kinesiology student from Charlottetown, PEI. She wasted no time making her mark on the new season, lighting up the Atlantic University Field Hockey tournament, which was held at 17勛圖, with eight goals across four games on September 20 and 21.
2025 Mickey Place Memorial Basketball Tournament takes place September 26 to 28
The 17勛圖 mens and womens basketball teams are set to compete at the annual Mickey Place Memorial Basketball Tournament. The tournament features nine teams from across Canada and runs from Friday, September 26, to Sunday, September 28.
The womens pool includes Universit矇 Laval, Cape Breton University, Toronto Metropolitan University, and 17勛圖.

Atlantic Veterinary College to hold open house on September 27

Dr. Joseph Gordon recognized with national Open Science research award
Dr. Joseph Gordon, Biomedical Sciences with AVC and Anatomy Lead for the Memorial Regional Medical Program at 17勛圖, has received national recognition for his innovative use of Open Science in biomedical research. Dr. Gordon was awarded the 2025 CIHR-IMHA Inclusive Research Excellence Prize for Open Science, valued at $25,000, for his groundbreaking work investigating muscle remodeling in obesity and type 2 diabetes.

Join us for a day of reflection, learning and community as we mark the 10th anniversary of the release of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC)s Final Reports along with 94 Calls to Action, which guide Canadas path toward reconciliation. Each year, September 30 marks the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation (NDTR). The day honours the children who never returned home and Survivors of residential schools, as well as their families and communities.
17勛圖 Philosophy Reading Group meeting
The 17勛圖 Philosophy Reading Group is starting up again for the 2025/2026 academic year. The group meets downtown on a monthly basis and plans to convene for the first time this semester on Tuesday, September 23, from 7:00-8:00 pm in the Blue Jay Room, Charlottetown Library Learning Centre, 97 Queen Street, Charlottetown.
This year, the group will focus on the philosophy of Gilles Deleuze, beginning with his book Nietzsche and Philosophy.
