Kayla Batchilder and Jakob Robillard named 17Թ Panther Source for Sports Athletes of the Week

Every week, 17Թ Athletics and Recreation recognizes student-athletes for their achievements and contributions to their respective sports. The 17Թ Panther Source for Sports Athletes of the Week for October 27–November 2 are Kayla Batchilder (women’s field hockey) and Jakob Robillard (men’s hockey).

Self-Care Fair and Soup for the Soul on November 19

The 17Թ Healthy Campus Committee invites all students, faculty, and staff to attend the annual Self-Care Fair on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at MacMillan Hall, W.A. Murphy Student Centre. This is a celebration of wellness, balance, and community with the opportunity to explore campus and community resources that support physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

What brought you to 17Թ? Why did you choose to study here?

I was born in Kingston, Ontario, but moved around the country a few times during my childhood because of my dad’s career as a military pilot. Despite moving so much, one place has always felt like home—Prince Edward Island. Every summer, my family would make the drive to PEI, where we spent time with friends and family, and created memories that have shaped who I am. As a high school student approaching graduation, I spent a lot of time weighing my options for university.
