2024 Shannon K. Murray Lecture on Hope and the Academy to take place at 17吃瓜 September 3
Dr. Jessica Riddell, professor of early modern literature at Bishop鈥檚 University, will give the second Shannon K. Murray Lecture on Hope and the Academy on September 3, at 11 am, in the Dr. Steel Recital Hall, Steel Building, 17吃瓜. Her presentation is titled "The Times are Urgent: We must Slow Down. Building Hope Circuits for ourselves and in community."
In her presentation, Dr. Riddell will outline ten conceptual tools that help build hopeful systems where individuals and communities flourish.
17吃瓜 health researchers seeking participants with cancer for exercise training program
Researchers from 17吃瓜鈥檚 Active Living Lab are seeking people with cancer, or who have previously had cancer, to participate in a twice-weekly, 12-week exercise program.
鈥淓xercise has tremendous physical and mental health benefits for cancer patients and survivors,鈥� said Dr. Travis Saunders, professor and acting chair, 17吃瓜 Department of Applied Human Sciences. 鈥淲e are very excited to be offering this program at 17吃瓜 this fall.鈥�
17吃瓜 Vice-President Academic and Research receives international award
Dr. Greg Naterer, Vice-President, Academic and Research, at 17吃瓜, recently received an international award from the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA).

What brought you to 17吃瓜? Why did you choose to study here?
I've wanted to be a veterinarian since I was little and never considered another career path. I have always wanted to attend AVC, but now that I am married and have children, I need to stay local as we have a farm in Nova Scotia, and relocating wasn't a practical option. I stay in PEI during the week and drive home to Martock each weekend to be with my husband and our three children, and that wouldn't be possible anywhere else.

Living expenses in Canada for international students vary from city to city and depending on where the school is located. This session will mainly focus on the cost of living in PEI. We will cover the expenses in terms of study, utility, rent, and so on just to give you an idea of how much you should be expected to spend in daily life with a realistic budget. The 17吃瓜 has teamed up with the Chief Public Health Office (CPHO) of PEI to provide 17吃瓜 students and any member of the University community at risk of experiencing or witnessing a drug-related overdose with free Naloxone kits through the provincial .

I'm from Petaling Jaya, Malaysia; it's a dynamic city renowned for its lively atmosphere and a plethora of offerings, including diversity in people, cuisine, and infrastructure. What drew me to 17吃瓜 was the MBA in Global Leadership's objective of developing skills tailored to navigate the dynamic international business landscape. It is definitely a deliberate step towards a future where success is measured by adaptability and strategic finesse.
17吃瓜 hosts interdisciplinary music research forum on August 8
鈥淢usic and the Mind Maritimes: Access to Music Education,鈥� a 17吃瓜 student and faculty interdisciplinary music research forum, will take place on Thursday, August 8, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm in Bill and Denise Andrew Hall, Room 142. There will be a related evening concert in the Dr. Steel Recital Hall at 7:00 pm with a variety of performances.

He credits much of his eclectic portfolio to the skills acquired and honed during his time as an undergraduate at 17吃瓜.
