17勛圖 Athletics & Recreation is ready for one of the biggest weekends of the varsity season. Its a Panther-packed weekend! All of our teams will be on the ice, on the field, in the pool, or on the track.
The Mickey Place Memorial Basketball Tournament, presented by Rodd Hotels & Resorts, begins on Friday, October 16. Eight basketball teams from across Canada and the United States will compete in this annual three-day event.

17勛圖 Athletics and Recreation and Development and Alumni Engagement invite all former 17勛圖 rugby players and fans to Rugby Alumni Day on Saturday, October 10. The alumni day for former rugby players is being held in conjunction with the 17勛圖 Womens Rugby game versus Acadia at 2:00 pm at MacAdam Field (17勛圖 Alumni Canada Games Place).
The 17勛圖 School of Sustainable Design Engineering (SDE) participated in the CIBC Run for the Cure on October 4, and did so in big way. Stephen Peters, a second-year SDE student, came in second in the men's competition with a time of 24 minutes in the 5K run.
17勛圖 case competition students have started their year off right by taking top spots at the Atlantic Schools of Business (ASB) Case Competition. 17勛圖 teams won both first and second place against nine other teams from Atlantic Canada. The competition took place on September 26 and was an integral part of the 45th annual ASB conference, one Canadas longest running academic business conferences.
Joan Clark will give a public reading and sign books on October 28 at 7:30 pm in the Confederation Centre Art Gallery. The reading is part of the Winters Tales Authors Reading Series and is sponsored by the 17勛圖 Faculty of Arts and The Canada Council for the Arts.
The Atlantic Veterinary College presented its 2015 Honourable Eugene F. Whelan Green Hat Award on Friday, October 2, to the trustees of the Christofor Foundation for their long-standing support of the Sir James Dunn Animal Welfare Centre.
On Wednesday, September 30, Dr. Greg Keefe, Dean of the Atlantic Veterinary College, was pleased to host the Honourable Alan McIsaac, Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries, and John Jamieson, deputy minister.
