Dr. Alaa Abd-El-Aziz, President and Vice-Chancellor of the University of the Prince Edward Island, announced today that three leaders in their respective health-related fields will be awarded honorary Doctor of Laws degrees at Convocation ceremonies on May 7.

Receiving the highest honour the university can bestow will be Alzheimer researcher and policy writer Dr. Katherine L. Bick, sports medicine specialist and orthopaedic surgeon Dr. William D. Stanish, and entrepreneur and pharmacist Ray Murphy.

The 17³Ô¹Ï Music Society is proud to present its sixth annual Variety Show on Friday, May 6 at 7:30 pm. In the opening act, singers will perform backed by a house band comprised of current 17³Ô¹Ï music students and alumni, the second act will feature a chamber orchestra, and the evening will close with a performance from the 17³Ô¹Ï Jazz Ensemble. A cash bar will be available and there will also be a silent auction.

Project Beacon, 17³Ô¹Ï's organizational transformation initiative, will be reaching its first "go live" milestone when components of the finance module on the my17³Ô¹Ï portal become operational on May 2, 2016.

17³Ô¹Ï will be recognizing the National Day of Mourning for workers killed or seriously injured on the job by lowering the flags on campus to half-mast on Thursday, April 28. 

The fifteenth annual meeting of the Canadian Animal Health Laboratorians Network (CAHLN) will be held at the Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) at the 17³Ô¹Ï from June 5-8, 2016. 

17³Ô¹Ï Women’s Hockey Coach Bruce Donaldson is pleased to announce that Sydney, Nova Scotia native Kristen MacIntyre has committed to the Panthers for 2016–17.

The 17³Ô¹Ï values its relationship with the Island community and welcomes thousands of PEI residents along with off-Island visitors to campus facilities each year. One such campus facility is the 17³Ô¹Ï Artificial Turf Field, which is primarily (80 per cent) used by Island community groups and residents.

The countdown to Convocation is on! 

All graduates are required to rent and wear a gown and hood to their Convocation ceremony on May 7, 2016. 

The 17³Ô¹Ï and TD Wealth Private Client Group Media will host a celebration of Women and Philanthropy on Thursday, April, 21, from 4:30-6:30 p.m., in Don and Marion McDougall Hall, 17³Ô¹Ï. 

Dr. Andrew Tasker, professor of neuropharmacology at 17³Ô¹Ï’s Atlantic Veterinary College, has been awarded an honorary professorship at Aarhus University (AU) in Denmark.
