In June 2019, the Chinook Project team travelled to northern Labrador to provide free veterinary services in Nain and  Natuashish. In all, approximately 150 medical appointments and 50 surgeries were performed.

The Honourable Lawrence MacAulay, Minister of Veterans Affairs, on behalf of the Honourable Amarjeet Sohi, Canada鈥檚 Minister of Natural Resources, along with the Honourable Brad Trivers, PEI鈥檚 Minister of Environment, Water and Climate Change, today announced an innovative climate change adaptation project led by the 17吃瓜.

The 17吃瓜 announced today that it will induct three members into the 17吃瓜 Sports Hall of Fame at its 17吃瓜 Sports Legacy Celebration on November 14, 2019. Tessa Roche, Vernon Pahl, and the 1984鈥�85 17吃瓜 Men鈥檚 Hockey team will be the 48, 49, and 50th inductees, respectively, bringing the total membership of the 17吃瓜 Sports Hall of Fame to 50.

A book by 17吃瓜鈥檚 was short-listed by the Canadian Historical Association for its annual Best Scholarly Book in Canadian History Price (formerly the Sir John A. MacDonald Prize). 

A fully articulated 20-foot minke whale skeleton is now suspended from the ceiling in AVC鈥檚 McCain Foundation Learning Commons, much to the delight of Dr. Pierre-Yves Daoust, wildlife pathologist and professor emeritus of pathology.

The Faculty of Nursing at the 17吃瓜 is partnering with The Salvation Army for a unique learning and service experience at Bedford MacDonald House in Charlottetown.

Dr. Katherine Gottschall-Pass has been recognized as a Fellow of Dietitians of Canada (DC). Dr. Gotschall-Pass is a professor in the Department of Applied Human Sciences and the current interim vice-president academic and research at the 17吃瓜.

His Excellency, Mr. Stefan Pehringer, the Austrian Ambassador to Canada, made a return visit to the 17吃瓜 on June 17, meeting with representatives from the faculties of Sustainable Design Engineering and Veterinary Medicine.

International graduates from post-secondary institutions on PEI who wish to settle in the province are invited to a celebration and information meeting on Thursday, June 13, 5:30鈥�7:30 pm, in the Florence Simmons Performance Hall, Holland College, 140 Weymouth St., Charlottetown.
