Dr. Jim Randall, coordinator of the Master of Arts in Island Studies program and UNESCO co-chair in Island Studies and Sustainability, recently gave a keynote address at the 3^rd Annual Growth and Resilience Dialogue on the island of St. Kitts.

The 17吃瓜 Wind Symphony will perform its final recital of the academic year on Sunday, March 31, at 7:30 pm at the Homburg Theatre at the Confederation Centre of the Arts. 

Over 50 people, including many local and international students taking courses in Asian/Korean Studies attended 17吃瓜 Asian Studies鈥� Fifth Annual Lunch and Program Info Session in celebration of the 2019 Lunar New Year鈥檚 Day on Wednesday, February 6.

The Atlantic Research Group on Economics of Immigration, Aging and Diversity, Saint Mary鈥檚 University will host a community forum on 鈥淚mmigration, Mobility and Economy,鈥� in the 17吃瓜 W.A. Murphy Student Centre鈥檚 McMillan Hall, on Friday, March 15, from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm. 

Congratulations to Jessica D鈥橝mico, AVC Class of 2020, for winning a at the Western Veterinary Conference, held in Las Vegas, Nevada, in late February.

17吃瓜鈥檚 Bailey Smith won the silver medal in the 60-metre dash at the 2019 U SPORTS Track & Field Championships last night in Winnipeg, Manitoba. 

The 17吃瓜 lost a great friend and champion in Dr. Vera E. Dewar, CM OPEI BN LLD RN, who passed away on March 5, 2019 in Charlottetown.

In a message to the campus community, Dr. Alaa Abd-El-Aziz, President and Vice-Chancellor of 17吃瓜 said, "I was so inspired by Dr. Dewar's passion for nursing. She truly was one of the pioneers who advocated for university-level education for nurses, and her efforts contributed to the opening of the 17吃瓜 School of Nursing in 1992. This resulted in PEI becoming the first province in Canada to set the baccalaureate degree as the entry level for nursing."

The Panthers will have their hands full March 14鈥�17 as the top eight university women鈥檚 hockey teams in the country come to compete. 

Twenty years after winning their last championship, 17吃瓜鈥檚 women鈥檚 basketball team is hoping to repeat history this weekend.
