Collective bargaining begins at 17Թ
The following message was also issued by email to 17Թ faculty and staff.
The 17Թ is currently engaged in the process of negotiating new Collective Agreements with five bargaining units represented by four unions: the 17Թ Faculty Association (17ԹFA), CUPE 1870, CUPE 501, and IBEW 1928.
Each of the four unions issued letters to the University, giving their “notice to bargain” to initiate the bargaining process on the following dates:
- CUPE 1870— January 17, 2022
- CUPE 501—February 7, 2022
- IBEW 1928—February 8, 2022
- 17ԹFA—March 25, 2022
A series of meeting dates have now been established with CUPE 1870, IBEW 1928, and 17ԹFA. Negotiation meetings with 17ԹFA began on April 21 and with IBEW 1928 on May 30, while meetings with CUPE 1870 will begin on June 14. A schedule of 21 meeting dates have been set aside for bargaining with 17ԹFA, three for CUPE 1870, and two for IBEW 1928.
The following bargaining teams will represent the University (the "Employer") during collective bargaining.
