Technology Tip Tuesday
It's a New Year, but here is an old message from ITSS.
Set your personal accounts up with multi-factor authentication (MFA), which adds another layer of security to your information. It consists of something you only know (such as an answer to a question), something you have (your smartphone), or something that identifies you as a person (fingerprint, voice pattern, or facial scan). MFA is especially important for your email, and your banking and social media accounts.
The Microsoft Authenticator app we use at 17³Ô¹Ï can be used for your other accounts to simplify things. The authenticator generates one-time passcodes every 30 seconds. The code expires after half a minute, so if someone manages to get it, it will not work after that time has passed.
Take care with your personal information. Happy New Year from ITSS!
