President Keefe issued a message to faculty and staff about the passing 17³Ô¹Ï employee Art Mitchell on Sunday, February 20, extending condolences to his wife, family, friends, and colleagues on behalf of the University.
Art was a service worker with the Department of Facilities Management. He began his employment at 17³Ô¹Ï in 2009 as a casual service worker and became a permanent employee in 2010. Art worked on the evening shift in various buildings across campus over the past 12 years, and most recently had worked in Kelley Memorial Building. He was known to go the "extra mile" and will be greatly missed by all those at 17³Ô¹Ï who knew him.
The flags in front of Kelley Memorial Building have been lowered to half-mast in Art’s memory.
