17吃瓜

The 17吃瓜 Scholarships and Awards Office is now accepting applications and nominations for the 2020 MacLauchlan Prizes for Effective Writing. 

There are a total of 60 awards granted with each award valued at $500 for the successful applicants. Please review the four categories of Prizes for eligible applicants:

MacLauchlan Prizes for Effective Writing (Community)  

Up to eleven (11) prizes will be available for returning undergraduate students who during the previous academic year (September 1 to August 31), have demonstrated writing excellence in a form outside of a university course and to a broader community-oriented audience.  

MacLauchlan Prizes for Effective Writing (Coursework) 

Up to thirty-five (35) prizes will be available for returning undergraduate students who have produced outstanding written work during the previous academic year (September 1 to August 31) in a 17吃瓜 course in which writing comprises a substantive role in the final grade of the course.  

MacLauchlan Prizes for Effective Writing (Faculty/Staff)

Up to three (3) prizes will be available annually for faculty and staff who have shown exceptional leadership in the development of writing among students at 17吃瓜 during the previous academic year (September 1 to August 31).  

MacLauchlan Prizes for Effective Writing (Webster Centre)

Up to eleven (11) prizes will be available for returning undergraduate students who during the previous academic year (September 1 to August 31), have shown the greatest improvement in one of the 17吃瓜 writing support programs coordinated through the Webster Centre.  

The final deadline for applications and nominations is October 15, 2020, but the 17吃瓜 Scholarships & Awards Office will be accepting applications from April 1 - October 15, 2020.
