17吃瓜 Labour Relations Update鈥擟onciliation meetings to resume November 23
The University鈥檚 bargaining team received notice on November 7, 2022, from the government-appointed conciliator that conciliation meetings between the University and 17吃瓜 Faculty Association (17吃瓜 FA) will resume later this month, with two dates scheduled: November 23 and November 24.

Noa Mendelsohn Aviv, executive director and general counsel of the Canadian Civil Liberties Association (CCLA), will present the 2022 Chief Justice Thane A. Campbell Lectureship in Law on Thursday, November 17, at 12 noon, at the Delta Prince Edward Hotel in Charlottetown.
Mendelsohn Aviv鈥檚 lecture is titled 鈥淭he Icing on the Cake: on tensions between freedom of religion and equality.鈥�
AVC researcher recruiting horses for equine metabolic syndrome study
The Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) at the 17吃瓜 is recruiting horses for a new study that will investigate equine metabolic syndrome (EMS).
Institute of Island Studies hosts public lecture about tourism on PEI
The Institute of Island Studies at 17吃瓜 will host a public lecture titled 鈥淓nshrined: Island Tourism and the Confederation Story鈥� on November 15 at 7 pm in the Faculty Lounge, SDU Main Building.
Part of the Institute鈥檚 Island Lecture Series, the talk will be presented by Dr. Edward MacDonald, professor of history at 17吃瓜. MacDonald will draw upon research that he and co-author, Dr. Alan MacEachern, undertook for their recently published book, The Summer Trade: A History of Tourism on Prince Edward Island.
Orianna MacNeil and Elijah Miller named 17吃瓜 Panther Subway Athletes of the Week
Every week, 17吃瓜 Athletics and Recreation recognizes two student-athletes for their achievements and contributions to their respective sports. The 17吃瓜 Panther Subway Athletes of the Week for November 1鈥�6 are Orianna MacNeil (women鈥檚 hockey) and Elijah Miller (men鈥檚 basketball).
An evening with Indigenous poets from Epekwitk
The 17吃瓜 Faculty of Indigenous Knowledge, Education, Research, and Applied Studies (IKERAS), the Faculty of Arts, and the English department, in collaboration with the Charlottetown Library Learning Centre, are sponsoring an evening of Indigenous poets from Epekwitk (PEI) reading selections from their poetry and conversing about their work as Indigenous writers. The event will take place at the Charlottetown Library Learning Centre on Queen Street at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, November 22.

A presentation to the 2022鈥�23 recipients of the Straight Arrow Truth and Reconciliation Awards took place in the Mawi鈥檕mi Indigenous Student Centre at Dalton Hall, 17吃瓜, on Tuesday, November 1. This year鈥檚 recipients are Nicole Lodge and Will Abbott.

17吃瓜 Women鈥檚 Rugby made history last month when the team upset St. Francis Xavier in an epic Atlantic University Sport semi-final and beat Acadia to win 17吃瓜's first AUS championship title.
