2022 Chief Justice Thane A. Campbell Lectureship in Law to take place on November 17

Noa Mendelsohn Aviv, executive director and general counsel of the Canadian Civil Liberties Association (CCLA), will present the 2022 Chief Justice Thane A. Campbell Lectureship in Law on Thursday, November 17, at 12 noon, at the Delta Prince Edward Hotel in Charlottetown.

Mendelsohn Avivs lecture is titled The Icing on the Cake: on tensions between freedom of religion and equality.

Institute of Island Studies hosts public lecture about tourism on PEI

The Institute of Island Studies at 17勛圖 will host a public lecture titled Enshrined: Island Tourism and the Confederation Story on November 15 at 7 pm in the Faculty Lounge, SDU Main Building.

Part of the Institutes Island Lecture Series, the talk will be presented by Dr. Edward MacDonald, professor of history at 17勛圖. MacDonald will draw upon research that he and co-author, Dr. Alan MacEachern, undertook for their recently published book, The Summer Trade: A History of Tourism on Prince Edward Island.

An evening with Indigenous poets from Epekwitk

The 17勛圖 Faculty of Indigenous Knowledge, Education, Research, and Applied Studies (IKERAS), the Faculty of Arts, and the English department, in collaboration with the Charlottetown Library Learning Centre, are sponsoring an evening of Indigenous poets from Epekwitk (PEI) reading selections from their poetry and conversing about their work as Indigenous writers. The event will take place at the Charlottetown Library Learning Centre on Queen Street at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, November 22.
