Throughout the months of October, November, and December, we will be hosting several pre-travel orientation sessions. These sessions are offered in addition to the official orientation taking place in January 2026. Please follow the 17³Ô¹Ï International Student Facebook page for updates.

During International Student Orientation, you will learn more about what life at the 17³Ô¹Ï and in Canada is like, and find out about the great supports and assistance programs we offer! If you're concerned about starting your degree online or making friends, we have you covered.

COVID-19 emergency border measures have ended. However, all students should continue to for any changes.

Incoming students - January 2026 semester

All incoming January 2026 semester undergraduate students are required to provide proof of immigration (IRCC) approval by January 5, 2026. Please email your approval letter or stamped visa to inte@upei.ca before 4:00 pm Atlantic Time on January 5, 2026. Students who have not provided proof of approval by this date will be removed from their registered classes on January 12, 2026.

The final day to arrive at 17³Ô¹Ï is Thursday January 22, 2026. You must come to our office in Dalton Hall, fourth floor before 4:00 pm Atlantic Time to have your study permit scanned. The last day for students to add or change courses is Friday, January 23, 2026.

All fees are due Tuesday January 27, 2026.

I have received a letter of acceptance from 17³Ô¹Ï. What should I do now?

Once you have paid your confirmation deposit, and have received your full admission package, you must (PAL).

We are excited to continue these discussions and look forward to having you join us at 17³Ô¹Ï. While we cannot provide immigration advice we can direct you to the proper IRCC websites to assist you with your study permit application.

We can meet you at the airport

Congratulations on your acceptance to 17³Ô¹Ï! We look forward to having you join us in person. To welcome you to the University and help you get settled, 17³Ô¹Ï is offering our incoming students a free Airport Taxi pickup service. This service provides students with a free ride from the airport to their place of residence in Charlottetown. If available, a returning student volunteer will greet you at the airport.

For Fall semesters, the service runs from the third week of August to mid-September. For Winter semesters, the service runs from mid-December to mid-January.

When you have requested the service, we will send you a letter which you must present to the taxi driver on your arrival to waive the transport charge. Upon arrival at the Charlottetown Airport (YYG), please proceed to the Arrival Hall. If available, our airport pickup volunteers will be there waiting for you. If our greeters are not available, PEI Online Taxi will be waiting on the left outside the airport exit. We also use Co-op taxi, so make sure that you select the taxi company listed in your letter. If you have questions about airport arrival service please email irostu@upei.ca or sacheng@upei.ca.

Important note: You must travel directly from the airport to your new residence. Do not make any stops.
