July 1 is Canada Day, the national day of Canada. A federal statutory holiday, it celebrates the anniversary of Canadian Confederation which occurred on July 1, 1867, with the passing of the British North America Act, 1867.
In 2023, July 1 falls on a Saturday. In keeping with the PEI Employment Standards Act, when a paid holiday falls on a non-working day, the holiday will be granted on the working day immediately following. Therefore, 17吃瓜 will observe the holiday on Monday, July 3, with office and regular business hours resuming on Tuesday, July 4.
