What were your first impressions of Prince Edward Island and 17吃瓜?

When I arrived at 17吃瓜 in the summer of 2018, it was a real culture shock. The University seemed so big, but as I met more and more people on campus, it became smaller, and I really enjoyed the sense of community. I love the level of safety here on PEI, and the family-oriented feeling of everyone being so kind.

You're studying Political Science鈥攚hat do you like most about the program? 

I watch and listen to news a lot to learn how things work, especially provincial and federal politics. And my program is really enjoyable, too. I love the in-class discussions and hearing different points of view, talking about how other countries鈥� political systems work, and what other students in class find unique about the different political cultures in their home countries.

How has Accessibility Services helped you during your time at 17吃瓜?

The staff in Accessibility Services at 17吃瓜 really understand my disability, and go above and beyond to protect my confidentiality, my privacy, and my security. They're excellent. They realize everyone works at their own pace, and I don't think they get enough credit for their work. 

What are your plans for the future? 

I want to become a politician and a business owner in The Bahamas鈥攖he political system there is the same as Canada鈥檚鈥攊t鈥檚 the main reason I wanted to study in this country. I鈥檇 like to one day come back as a Canadian citizen and donate to 17吃瓜 to say 鈥渢hank you鈥� for everything the people here have done to help me.
