Why did you choose 17吃瓜?

"17吃瓜 was my first choice because of my interest in Sustainable Design Engineering. 17吃瓜 was particularly intriguing because of how the client projects are integrated directly into the program, as opposed to doing a separate co-operative education term. And, the brand new, state-of-the-art facilities seemed like the perfect place for me to start my post-secondary education."

What are some benefits of attending 17吃瓜 as an Island student?

"I've discovered many different benefits of choosing to stay at 17吃瓜 for my studies, with the most notable being financial savings. Tuition is very manageable because of the automatic financial resources such as the George Coles bursary and the Guaranteed Academic Excellence scholarship. Additionally, 17吃瓜 offers a plethora of scholarships throughout the year that are so easy to apply for!"

What do you like most about the Engineering program?

"I love my program because of the hands-on approach to learning. Having local, national, and international projects built into the program has been such an amazing experience. I find myself sitting in class, learning about a new topic and immediately applying it to my project. The program truly gives you a sense of what the workforce will be like and fully prepares you for it. Most notably, it offers a shift in perspective as it encourages you to think and act more sustainably as a professional and in your daily life. This degree is a very unique experience that gives young engineers a strong yet modern foundation for their engineering careers."
 

How has your program prepared you for your career goals?

"Completing client projects each year teaches you how to act in a professional manner while interacting with your clients and peers. In the upper years of the Engineering program, you are given the choice of some elective courses, which provides the flexibility to learn more about the aspects of engineering that are of interest to you."

What is the best thing about being at student at 17吃瓜?

"17吃瓜鈥檚 small class sizes have been very beneficial for my learning and allowed me to foster strong relationships with my peers. If you鈥檙e interested in research, 17吃瓜 is the place to be! The faculty puts a tremendous amount of effort into teaching, but most are also involved in cutting-edge research. Their extensive knowledge in specific areas creates a unique learning experience. There are so many different ways to get involved, whether it be through student societies in your faculty or campus-wide!"
