Every week, 17吃瓜 Athletics and Recreation recognizes student-athletes for their achievements and contributions to their respective sports. The 17吃瓜 Panther Athletes of the Week for October 21鈥�27, 2024, are Grace Richard (women鈥檚 cross country) and Jack Roberts (men鈥檚 cross country).

Richard, a fourth-year science student from Charlottetown, was 17吃瓜鈥檚 top runner at the AUS Championships this past weekend in Newfoundland and Labrador. She finished 15th overall with a time of 31:37.

鈥淚t is amazing to see Grace back to her usual form. She is an extremely gifted athlete wo has dealt with untimely injuries the last couple of years,鈥� said head coach Mike Peterson. 鈥淪he has had a very consistent training block, and we鈥檙e excited to see how she does at U SPORTS in two weeks.鈥�

Roberts, a fourth-year arts student from Charlottetown, placed 16th at the AUS Championships, finishing with a personal best of 27:00.

鈥淛ack just continues to get better and better every time he steps on the course. His hard work and commitment continue to pay off. We can鈥檛 wait to see how he does in Kelowna against the best runners in the country,鈥� said Peterson.
