The 17吃瓜 men鈥檚 and women鈥檚 basketball teams are ready to roll at the annual Mickey Place Memorial Basketball Tournament! The tournament features nine teams from across Canada and runs Friday, September 29, through Sunday, October 1.

The women鈥檚 pool includes Acadia University, University of Saskatchewan, University of Waterloo, and 17吃瓜. The men鈥檚 pool includes Dalhousie University, York University, Saint Mary鈥檚 University, Holland College, and 17吃瓜.

The tournament is named after John Thomas 鈥淢ickey鈥� Place, a long-time friend of Panther Sport, a former 17吃瓜 Student Union employee, and a 17吃瓜 honorary degree recipient.

鈥淯 SPORTS Basketball fans will not want to miss this weekend鈥檚 Mickey Place Tournament,鈥� said Darrell Glenn, coach of the 17吃瓜 Men鈥檚 Basketball team. 鈥淪ome of the top players from men鈥檚 and women鈥檚 teams across the country will compete in our gym, and that鈥檚 an opportunity that you don鈥檛 get every day.鈥�

All games will be played in the 17吃瓜 Chi-Wan Young Sports Centre. The full tournament schedule can be found at . Tickets are $20 for a day pass, $10 for non-17吃瓜 students, and free for 17吃瓜 students. An adult tournament pass is $50, $20 for non-17吃瓜 students (season ticket holders get 50% off on the tournament pass). Tickets can be purchased online at panthertickets.ca or in person at game time.
