17勛圖 welcomes Austin Clement as new director of Conference and Ancillary Services

The 17勛圖 (17勛圖) is pleased to welcome Austin Clement as the new director of Conference and Ancillary Services. Clement will oversee a variety of operations that support and supplement 17勛圖s core academic functions, including Conference Services, Residence Services, and the Universitys Bookstore.
Clement holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from 17勛圖, a Culinary Arts diploma from The Culinary Institute of Canada, and a Certificate in Adult Education (CAE) from the University of New Brunswick. He is also a Red Seal (RSE) Certified Chef. He began his position at 17勛圖 on May 29.
Over the span of 35 years working in the tourism industry, Clement spent ten years as an instructor at Holland Colleges Culinary Institute of Canada. He then moved into a new role as the program manager responsible for the Colleges culinary, hospitality, and tourism programs. During his 15-year tenure in this position, he provided leadership to 35 faculty, 30 support staff, and 300 students, and he oversaw all aspects of the business function of the Culinary Institutes food service and retail operations.

His extensive professional experience in the food service industry, leadership skills, and education is very well suited to this position and the campus environment. Clement lives in Stratford with his wife, Treena, where he volunteers as the president and chair of PEI School Food Inc., a non-profit organization responsible providing almost 20,000 healthy meals each week to students across all PEI schools.
