Message from the President: Supporting students through the end of the semester

The following message was also issued to 17³Ô¹Ï employees by email to their 17³Ô¹Ï email accounts.
Dear Faculty and Staff,
The last several weeks have been challenging, and I thank everyone in the University community for their patience and understanding. The University’s immediate focus is ensuring students are supported and can successfully complete the academic semester.
We recognize relationships have been strained during the strike, and the University is committed to mending them. We know it will take some time. Our new collective agreement with 17³Ô¹Ï Faculty Association is an important first step.
The 17³Ô¹Ï community has been through a great deal—COVID, Hurricane Fiona, and this labour disruption. With a new four-year collective agreement reached with Faculty, and a new collective agreement with CUPE 1870 in place, the University’s future is bright, and we look forward to the opportunities ahead.
The University is committed to a successful end of term for our students. Let’s do everything we can to support our students as we get to the end of the winter semester and the academic year.
Regards,
Greg
