Every week, 17吃瓜 Athletics and Recreation recognizes two student-athletes for their achievements and contributions to their respective sports. 17吃瓜 Panther Subway Athletes of the Week for October 3鈥�9 are Kelly Clements (women鈥檚 hockey) and Salem Farag (men鈥檚 soccer).

Clements, a fourth-year forward and arts student from High Bank, PEI, scored both goals in a 2-1 win over the Universit茅 de Moncton Aigle Bleues during their season opener on October 7.

"I liked both games this weekend from Kelly. She was engaged, checking, and competing, and her habits and details were really sound,鈥� said head coach Sean Fisher. 鈥淚'm glad she was rewarded with a couple of goals."

17吃瓜 men鈥檚 soccer wing and third-year business student, Salem Farag of Charlottetown, connected on a beautiful header that gave the Panthers a 1-0 lead in their October 6 game at Acadia University. The game ended in a 1-1 draw, but his goal helped 17吃瓜 score a point in the standings.

鈥淪al played great in our Acadia game. He was an attacking threat and scored a fantastic goal,鈥� said head coach Lewis Page.
