The following message was also distributed to faculty, staff, and students via their @upei.ca email addresses.

Dear Members of the University Community,

On behalf of the 17³Ô¹Ï, I am very concerned about Russia’s attacks on Ukraine and the impact this aggression is having on the Ukrainian community and around the world. For the last seventy years, there has been stability in Europe, but events over the past two days have shaken this world order.

17³Ô¹Ï joins post-secondary education institutions across the country in denouncing and condemning Russia’s unwarranted actions against Ukraine as well as calling for an immediate resolution to the conflict.

We recognize that members of our 17³Ô¹Ï community may be affected by this military action, and offer support to students, faculty, staff, and alumni and friends, especially those of Ukrainian descent. We also want to recognize other troubling events that are happening around the world and our community members who are impacted.

17³Ô¹Ï has a number of resources for students through 17³Ô¹Ï Student Affairs, including personal counselling (studentserv@upei.ca), and the International Student Office (irostu@upei.ca). 17³Ô¹Ï faculty and staff can access resources on the  while eligible employees can call the Employee Assistance Program at 1-800-387-4765 for support.

17³Ô¹Ï stands strong with Ukraine, and I hope that the situation in Europe will be resolved soon.

Regards,

Greg
