COVID-19 Case on 17³Ô¹Ï Campus; Possible Exposure Location

Dear Members of the 17³Ô¹Ï Community,

I am writing to advise you that earlier today the PEI Chief Public Health Office (PEI CPHO) shared with us the news of a positive COVID-19 test result on the 17³Ô¹Ï campus.

The PEI CPHO is managing the response to this positive case and is currently conducting contact tracing. The case has also resulted in the PEI CPHO identifying that there is a potential exposure site at 17³Ô¹Ï, specifically the 17³Ô¹Ï Robertson Library.

The University will continue to follow the direction of the PEI CPHO and we ask that you please for specific details and guidance about this possible COVID-19 exposure.

Out of an abundance of caution and under the recommendation of 17³Ô¹Ï Health, Safety, and Environment (17³Ô¹Ï HSE), I have instructed Facilities Management to disinfect and conduct extra cleaning of high touch surfaces and all washrooms in the Library.

I will keep you updated with any further developments. Please contact 17³Ô¹Ï Health, Safety, and Environment if you have any concerns at hse@upei.ca.

Yours truly,

Jackie Podger

Vice-President, Administration and Finance
