Every week, 17吃瓜 Athletics and Recreation recognizes two student-athletes for their achievements and dedication to their respective sports. Congratulations to Braylan MacEachern and Ignacio 鈥淣acho鈥� Sanchez, the 17吃瓜 Panther Subway Athletes of the Week for October 14 to 20.

MacEachern is a first-year winger on the 17吃瓜 women鈥檚 soccer team and a science major from Murray River, PEI. She scored two goals in the Panthers 2鈥�1 win over Saint Mary鈥檚 University. 鈥淭he two goals would be what stand out,鈥� said coach Glen Miller of her performance. 鈥淔or my part, it was how quickly she got organized defensively. She was playing with a laser-like focus on both sides of the ball, and I believe she got rewarded for the quality mental energy she put forth.鈥� 

Sanchez is a fifth-year midfielder on the 17吃瓜 men鈥檚 soccer team and a business major from Cornwall, PEI. Sanchez came back from injury this weekend and scored both of the Panthers鈥� two goals in a 2鈥�2 draw with Saint Mary鈥檚. 鈥淣acho provided a true captain鈥檚 performance,鈥� said coach Lewis Page, 鈥渟coring two goals and hitting the crossbar late in the game. His attacking flair was matched by his defensive intensity.鈥�
