17勛圖 announces the Panther Subway Athletes of the Week, January 14 to 20
Every week, 17勛圖 Athletics and Recreation recognizes two student-athletes for their achievements and dedication to their respective sports. Congratulations to Kimeshia Henry and Milorad Sedlarevic, the 17勛圖 Panther Subway Athletes of the Week for January 14 to 20!
Kimeshia Henry is a fourth-year science student from Ajax, Ontario and a guard on the 17勛圖 Womens Basketball team. The Panther extended their winning streak over the weekend to 9 games and now sit all alone at the top of the AUS Womens Basketball standings. 17勛圖 Womens Basketball also jumped to the number-ten spot in Canada as ranked by U SPORTS. Henry recorded 10 points, five steals, and 2 assists in the Panthers 7450 defeat of St. Francis Xavier University and 14 points and 2 steals in the 7750 win over Dalhousie. Kimeshia had a great weekend for us at home and has been very consistent in her stellar play all season, said coach Matt Gambliln. Her skillset and ability to make plays really adds to our offensive firepower.
Milorad Sedlarevic is a fifth-year business student from Jesenice, Slovenia and a forward on the 17勛圖 Mens Basketball team. The Panthers lost to St. Francis Xavier 7874, and edged out Dalhousie 7067. Milorad had his best scoring night as a Panther, dropping 27 points on 5-10 shooting from the three-point line against the Dalhousie Tigers, who are ranked number 7 in the country, said coach Darrell Glenn. He showed the poise and sharpshooting that this young team is going to need if they have any chance of making the post season.
