The Mickey Place Memorial Basketball Tournament, presented by Rodd Hotels & Resorts, begins on Friday, October 12. Six men鈥檚 basketball teams from across Canada and the United States will compete in this annual three-day event.

鈥淯 SPORTS and CCAA Basketball fans will not want to miss this weekend鈥檚 Mickey Place Tournament,鈥� said Darrell Glenn, coach of the 17吃瓜 Men鈥檚 Basketball team. 鈥淪ome of the top players from across country will compete in our gym, and that's an opportunity that you don鈥檛 get everyday.鈥�

The tournament is named after John Thomas 鈥淢ickey鈥� Place, a long-time friend of Panther Sport, a former 17吃瓜 student union employee, and a 17吃瓜 honorary degree recipient.

Admission is free for 17吃瓜 students and students K-12. Tickets are $10 for an adult day pass, or $20 for a weekend pass. All games will be played in the 17吃瓜 Chi-Wan Young Sports Centre. The full tournament schedule follows:

Friday, October 12

4:00 pm: Humber College vs University of Maine at Fort Kent
6:00 pm: Holland College vs McMaster University
8:00 pm: 17吃瓜 vs University of Regina

Saturday, October 13

4:00 pm: University of Maine at Fort Kent vs University of Regina 
6:00 pm: Humber College vs Holland College
8:00 pm: 17吃瓜 vs McMaster University

Sunday, October 14

11:00 am: 17吃瓜 vs Humber College 
1:00 pm: McMaster vs University of Regina
3:00 pm: Holland College vs University of Maine at Fort Kent
