Every week, 17吃瓜 Athletics and Recreation recognizes student athletes for their achievements and dedication to their respective sports. Congratulations to Amanda Stanyer and Kameron Kielly, the 17吃瓜 Panther Subway Athletes of the Week for September 24鈥�30.

Amanda Stanyer is a third-year science major from Port Coquitlam, British Columbia and a keeper on the 17吃瓜 Women鈥檚 Soccer team. The Panthers played a couple of games on the weekend, beating Universit茅 de Moncton 4鈥�1 and holding the University of New Brunswick to a 0鈥�0 draw. 鈥淎manda had a solid performance against Moncton, including a terrific penalty save and important saves against UNB, keeping us in the game,鈥� said coach Graeme McDonald.

Kameron Kielly is a second-year business student from Charlottetown and a member of the 17吃瓜 Men鈥檚 Hockey team. The Panthers dropped a pair of tough games over the weekend, including a 5鈥�3 loss to Universit茅 de Moncton and a 4鈥�3 game to the University of New Brunswick. Kielly, however, scored a goal in each of the games. 鈥淕reat to see Kam get off to a great start,鈥� said coach Forbes MacPherson. 鈥淗e鈥檚 an offensive catalyst for us.鈥�
