Introducing 17吃瓜鈥檚 seventh faculty: The Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering
17吃瓜鈥檚 Senate and Board of Governors have approved creating 17吃瓜鈥檚 seventh faculty. The School of Sustainable Design Engineering (SSDE) is renamed, effective immediately, the Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering (FSDE). The new status recognizes the school鈥檚 achievements in research, teaching, and service in a few short years. The new faculty is independent from 17吃瓜鈥檚 Faculty of Science and will have at its helm Dr. Nicholas Krouglicof, whose title changes from associate dean to dean.
鈥淭he evolution from a school to a faculty in under four years is a testament to the hard work of the engineering faculty and staff whose efforts have helped create an engineering program that is second to none,鈥� said Dr. Krouglicof. 鈥淥ur task has been made easier by the unprecedented level of support we鈥檝e received from government, industry, and the community at large.鈥�
It has been an exciting few years for engineering at 17吃瓜. The School of Sustainable Design Engineering by Dr. Alaa Abd-El-Aziz, 17吃瓜 President and Vice-Chancellor. Construction on a home for the school began that summer, with the School of Sustainable Design Engineering Building . The first graduates with a Bachelor of Science in Sustainable Design Engineering .
