Athletes of the Week—September 22-28

The 17³Ô¹Ï Panther Athletes of the Week for the week of September 22-28 are Danae Iatrou, Women's Soccer; and Harminder Singh, Men's Soccer. 17³Ô¹Ï Athletics and Recreation showcases these talented athletes in order to recognize their hard work and dedication to their respective sports. 17³Ô¹Ï Athletes of the Week are also nominated to Atlantic University Sport and Canadian Interuniversity Sport for possible recognition in the region and/or country.

Who: Danae Iatrou, Women's Soccer; and Harminder Singh, Men's Soccer

What: 17³Ô¹Ï Panther Athletes of the Week

When: Week of September 22-28

Why: Iatrou, a fourth-year student-athlete enrolled in the Bachelor of Business Administration program from Timberlea, Nova Scotia is having a great season for the Women's Soccer Panthers. During Saturday's 1-1 tie against Acadia, Iatrou was selected as the player of the game. As a fullback, Iatrou has been solid defensively with strong tackling, composed passing, and an excellent work ethic. Her commitment, attitude, and performance have been outstanding showing strong leadership.

Singh, a third-year science student from Cremona, Italy scored the Panthers lone goal during the Men's Soccer team's 4-1 loss to the Acadia Axemen on Saturday. Playing at the striker position, Singh has given his team a boost of energy and speed each time he gets on the pitch.
