The Mickey Place Memorial Basketball Tournament begins on Friday, October 12, 2018 with six men's basketball teams competing in the annual three-day event. The Panthers will open the tournament Friday night at 8pm against the Regina Cougars. Saturday at 8pm, 17吃瓜 plays host to the McMaster Marauders. The Panthers wrap up the weekend on Sunday at 12 pm against the Humber Hawks. The tournament is named after John Thomas 鈥淢ickey鈥� Place, a long-time friend of Panther sport, a former 17吃瓜 student union employee, and a 17吃瓜 honorary degree recipient.
