Join Michelle Buttery, on Tuesday, February 10 for an open dialogue on relationships. Michelle works at Anderson House as the Child and Youth Services Coordinator for PEI Family Violence Prevention Services Inc. She will go over the basics of unhealthy and abusive relationships, as well as the characteristics of healthy relationships. She will also provide information on what you can do to support your friends, family, and people in your community who are affected by violence. This event is open to all 17吃瓜 students, staff and faculty. It is supported by the Department of Applied Human Sciences, and will take place from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm in Health Sciences Building, room 105. Refreshments will be served compliments of the Premier's Action Committee on Family Violence Prevention.

The campaign goal is $6,000. The Canadian Red Cross will host the final presentation titled "Restoring Family Links" in the Brown Bag Lunch Series on Friday, February 6 at 11:30 am in the Faculty Lounge, SDU Main Building. The Canadian Red Cross Restoring Family Links program helps people in Canada re-establish contact with immediate family members after separation due to armed conflict, natural disaster, migration and other humanitarian crises. Dr. Timothy Goddard will present this year鈥檚 keynote presentation, entitled 鈥淭he quest for Buen Vivir: For whom are we making a difference, and why?鈥� which will reflect on the idea of international development and examine some of the ways in which local communities can assume agency for their own future. Shoot for the Cure is a fundraising initiative by the CIS Women鈥檚 Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) to raise money for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation (CBCF) and other related charities. The campaign goal is $6,000. The "17吃瓜 Students Make a Difference," Brown Bag Lunch Series session, featuring Jayoda Tennekone and Rhyanne Beatty, has been rescheduled to Tuesday, February 10 at 11:30 am in the Faculty Lounge, SDU Main Building. A search committee for the Dean of Nursing has been established. Dr. Rosemary Herbert has expressed a willingness to extend her term as Dean for an additional three years, as per 17吃瓜 policy. Therefore, the Search Committee is charged with carrying out a review and making a recommendation regarding her reappointment. In order to carry out that review effectively, the Committee will be seeking input from members of the University community.
