Bachelor of Music Transfer Requirements

17³Ô¹Ï Department of Music will accept the successfully completed Music Performance diploma for an award of transfer credits (up to 60 semester hours of credit toward degree requirements of the Bachelor of Music.

Incoming students who have successfully completed the Music Performance diploma will be required to complete courses totalling at least 60 semester hours of credit at 17³Ô¹Ï, as specified in the Academic Calendar governing the student entry year.

Admission to the Bachelor of Music at 17³Ô¹Ï is conditional on the successful completion of a performance audition adjudicated by the applicant’s potential studio instructor and/or the Chair of Music at 17³Ô¹Ï. In addition, to be awarded the identified transfer credit, the applicant will be required to have achieved a minimum 70% average (equivalent to 2.7 CGPA on a 4.3 scale) in their completed Music Performance diploma program.

Course Progression, Bachelor of Music Education

The Bachelor of Music Education degree is a viable pathway for graduates of the Holland College Music Performance diploma program. A letter of application must be submitted to the Chair of the Department of Music, and students must have an overall average of 70% and a music average of 75% in the second year of study (i.e., MUSC-2000-level courses), and must maintain those minima in order to continue in the BMusEd program.
